Citrix Cloud Desktop Solution
The Citrix on-demand cloud desktop solution enables you to transform Windows desktops and applications into an on-demand, cloud-hosted service. The combination of desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) and integrated apps—Windows, web or SaaS—enables cloud providers and IT organizations to deliver an enterprise-class bundle of services with cloud scale economics. Users have access to their cloud-enabled desktop from any device, anywhere with a consistent, high-definition experience. Citrix cloud desktops and apps deliver benefits for users, IT, and business: Increased business agility, reduced IT spending, minimizes desktop management costs, and improve security and data management. Presenter: Steve Walters.
Windows Server 2008 R2
Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system introduces new technologies to allow users to work remotely more quickly and more securely. DirectAccess allows remote users to securely access enterprise shares, web sites, and applications without connecting to a virtual private network (VPN). DirectAccess establishes bi-directional connectivity with a user’s enterprise network every time a user’s DirectAccess-enabled portable computer connects to the Internet, even before the user logs on. Users never have to think about connecting to the enterprise network and IT administrators can manage remote computers outside the office, even when the computers are not connected to the VPN. BranchCache allows content from file and Web servers on a wide area network (WAN) to be cached on computers at a local branch office to improve application response time and reduce WAN traffic. Presenter: Peg Keenan
Developing & Deploying Websites in the Cloud
Web developers face a myriad of challenges as they move from prototypes to functional sites that have been rigorously tested and cross checked as meeting specifications and SLAs. Explore how partnering with the cloud can assist in the evolution and growth of your site in predictable, manageable, and cost-effective ways using the Cloud. We will also explore MVC and SQL Azure for VS2010 WEB development. Presenter: Terry Medlin
